New Higher Education Administrative Appointments for Five African Americans

wilcoxStan Wilcox was promoted to vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics at Florida State University in Tallahassee. He has been serving as athletics director since 2013. Previously, he was senior deputy director of athletics at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

Wilcox is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the Brooklyn Law School.

simpsonUlanda Adair-Simpson was appointed executive director of health occupations at Lone Star College in The Woodlands, Texas. She has 12 years of experience in higher education as a faculty member in nursing.

Adair-Simpson is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University in Texas. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center and is a doctoral candidate in the educational leadership program at Prairie View A&M University.

paysingerEarl C. Paysinger was named vice president for civic engagement in the Office of University Relations at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He was the first assistant chief of the Los Angeles Police Department, where he served on the force for 40 years.

Paysinger is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach, where he majored in criminal justice.

Joseph-JonesJoseph Jones was appointed director of the Harkin Institute for Public Policy and Citizen Engagement at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. A former legislative assistant to U.S. Senator Tom Harkin, Jones has been serving as senior vice president for government relations and public policy for the Greater Des Moines Partnership.

Jones is a graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans and holds a master of public administration degree from Drake University.

tracy_fosterTracy Foster was appointed executive director of the Henderson-Hopkins School in East Baltimore, Maryland. The K-8 school and early child development center is operated by the Johns Hopkins University School of Education and the Morgan State University School of Education and Urban Studies. Foster was the principal at Randle Highland Elementary School in the District of Columbia.

Foster holds a master’s degree in administration from Trinity Washington University and an executive master’s degree in leadership from Georgetown University.
