Four African Americans Named to New Administrative Posts at Colleges and Universities

NormJonesNorm Jones was named chief diversity and inclusion officer at Amherst College in Massachusetts. He has been serving as associate chief diversity officer at Harvard University. He is the former associate vice president and dean of institutional diversity at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Jones is a graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, where he majored in English and linguistics. He holds a master of public administration degree and a Ph.D. in workforce education and development from Pennsylvania State University.

MCDNALDLoretta McDonald was appointed director of admissions at Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis. She was dean of recruitment and admission at Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee.

McDonald is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she majored in public relations. She holds a master’s degree in higher education administration from Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

mcintosh_keithKeith W. McIntosh will be the next vice president and chief information officer at the University of Richmond in Virginia. He has been serving as associate vice president for digital instruction and information services and chief information officer at Ithaca College in New York.

McIntosh is a graduate of Bellevue University in Nebraska, where he majored in management information systems. He holds an MBA from Trident University International.

parrisParris Carter has been chosen as the new associate vice president of student affairs at Howard University in Washington, D.C. He was executive director of student affairs for the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville. He is the former dean of students at Wilberforce University in Ohio.

Dr. Carter holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He earned an educational doctorate at the Union Institute and University in Cincinnati.
