The New Dean of the Graduate School at Oregon State University

DENNISJennifer Dennis was promoted to dean of the Graduate School at Oregon State University in Corvallis. She will also hold the title of vice provost. Before coming to Oregon State in 2015 as associate dean of the Graduate School, Dr. Dennis served for 11 years on the faculty of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. There, she held joint appointments in the departments of horticulture and landscape architecture and agricultural economics.

Sabah Randhawa, executive vice president and provost at Oregon State University said that “in the few months she has been here, Dr. Dennis has shown a wonderful balance of leadership, advocacy and passion for graduate student education. She brings a strong commitment to our institutional values of collaboration, shared governance, diversity and inclusivity. She will help Oregon State University continue to advance interdisciplinary graduate education and develop and foster our graduate student community.”

Dr. Dennis holds bachelor’s and master’s degree in horticulture from the University of Illinois. She earned a Ph.D. in horticulture with a minor in marketing and consumer behavior from Michigan State University.
