New Faculty Appointments for Two Black Academic Stars

MassingaleBryan Massingale, professor of theology at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, will join the faculty at Fordham University in New York this coming fall. His book Racial Justice and the Catholic Church (Orbis Books, 2010) won a first place book award from the Catholic Press Association.

Rev. Massingale has served as president of the Catholic Theological Society of America. He received a doctorate in moral theology from the Academia Alphonsianum in Rome, Italy.

GregoryPardloPhotoGregory Pardlo, the winner of the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for poetry (Digest, Four Way Books, 2014), will join the faculty at Rutgers University-Camden in the fall of 2016 as an assistant professor of English. Pardlo currently teaches in the undergraduate writing program at Columbia University and is studying in the nonfiction writing program at the university.

Pardlo is  graduate of Rutgers University-Camden. He holds a master of fine arts degree from New York University. He is also working on his dissertation for his Ph.D. from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
