Four African Americans Taking On New Administrative Duties in Higher Education

triplettGregory E. Triplett is the new associate dean for graduate studies at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. He was an associate professor of electrical and computer engineering and associate director of the Honors College at the University of Missouri.

Dr. Triplett is a graduate of Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. He holds a master’s degree from Florida State University and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

WENDY-WILSONWendy Wilson is the new special assistant to the president for strategic communications and university relations at Albany State University in Georgia. She was special assistant to the president at Darton State College, which is merging with Albany State.

Before joining the administration at Darton State College, Wilson was director of alumni affairs at Albany State University from 2008 to 2012.

S.SandersSabrina Sanders was promoted to director of student affairs projects and initiatives in the Office of the Chancellor of California State University. She was assistant director of student programs in student academic support. Dr. Sanders is the former dean of student affairs at Long Beach City College in California.

Dr. Sanders holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from California State University, San Marcos. She earned a doctorate in educational leadership and management from Alliant International University.

mcgeeDarryl Keith McGee was appointed vice president for student affairs and chief budget officer at Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee. He was assistant vice chancellor and associate dean of students at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

McGee earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
