Two African Americans Who Have Retired From University Positions

MorrisonJoan Morrison, assistant director of the Office of Alumni Relations at North Carolina Central University in Durham, is retiring from her post. She joined the staff at the university in 1978 with a post in the Office of Research, Evaluation, and Planning.

Morrison is a graduate of North Carolina Central University.

ralph-oliverRalph Oliver, director of public safety and chief of police at the University of Kansas, has retired. Oliver began his career at the university as a patrol officer in 1974. He became director of public safety in 1997.

A native of Kansas City, Kansas, Oliver is veteran of the United States Coast Guard.
