Three African American Faculty Members Taking on Added Responsibilities

taylorJacquelyn Taylor, an associate professor in the pediatric nurse practitioner program at the Yale University School of Nursing, was given the additional responsibility as assistant dean of diversity and inclusion at the nursing school.

Dr. Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and a doctorate in nursing, all from Wayne State University in Detroit.

Barbara_KrauthamerBarbara Krauthamer, an associate professor of history at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, has been given the additional duty as associate dean for student and inclusion at the university’s Graduate School. Dr. Krauthamer is the author of Black Slaves, Indian Masters: Slavery, Emancipation, and Citizenship in the Native American South (University of North Carolina Press, 2013). She is the co-author of Envisioning Emancipation: Black Americans and the End of Slavery (Temple University Press, 2012).

Dr. Krauthamer holds a master’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a second master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Princeton University in New Jersey.

MitchellDavid-jpgS. David Mitchell, an associate professor of law and associate dean for academic affairs at the University of Missouri in Columbia, was given the additional responsibility as chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force of the University of Missouri System.

Professor Mitchell joined the faculty at the University of Missouri in 2006. A graduate of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, Dr. Mitchell holds a law degree, a master’s degree, and a Ph.D. in sociology, all from the University of Pennsylvania.
