Three African American Women Named to New Faculty Posts

lesterTameka E. Lester was named an assistant clinical professor at Georgia State University College of Law in Atlanta. She will also serve as director of the Philip C. Cool Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic at the university. Lester was the director of the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic at North Carolina Central University in Durham.

Lester is a graduate of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a law degree at North Carolina Central University.

DrEtzioniAlthema Etzioni is a new associate professor of clinical pathology at the School of Veterinary Medicine at Tuskegee University in Alabama. She is a licensed veterinarian in both Georgia and Alabama.

Dr. Etzioni is a graduate of Xavier University in New Orleans. She earned a doctorate in veterinary medicine at Tuskegee University and a master’s degree in veterinary clinical pathology at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

prattclarkMenah Pratt-Clarke was appointed professor of education and vice provost for inclusion and diversity and vice president for strategic affairs at Virginia Tech, effective February 1. Currently, she serves as associate chancellor for strategic affairs and associate provost for diversity at the University of Illinois.

Dr. Pratt-Clarke holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Iowa. She earned a second master’s degree, a law degree, and a Ph.D. at Vanderbilt University.
