Two Black Women Appointed to Named Faculty Positions

BellJeannine Bell was appointed the Richard S. Melvin Professor of Law at the Indiana University Mauer School of Law in Bloomington. Professor Bell joined the faculty at Indiana University in 1999. Her most recent book is Hate Thy Neighbor: Move-in Violence and the Persistence of Racial Segregation in American Housing (New York University Press, 2013).

Professor Bell is a graduate of Harvard University. She holds a law degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.

Brady DonitaDonita Brady was named Presidential Assistant Professor of Cancer Biology in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Her appointment is effective on July 1. She has been serving as a senior research associate at the Duke University School of Medicine.

Dr. Brady is a graduate of Radford University in Virginia, where she majored in chemistry. She holds a Ph.D. in pharmacology and cancer biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
