New Educational Doctoral Program Getting Underway at Xavier University

xavierlaXavier University of Louisiana is now accepting applications for its new doctoral program in educational leadership. The new program, which recently received approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, will focus on urban education and school turnaround strategies and methods. The new doctoral program plans to enroll its first class of students this coming fall.

rhaleRosalind Hale, professor of education at Xavier University noted that “what makes this degree program unique is its focus on leadership values that include social justice and inclusion. Like all of our educational programs, it will be grounded in a conceptual framework that identifies six constructs: spirituality, diversity, professionalism, inquiry, competence, and technology.”

Dr. Hale is a graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana. She holds a master’s degree in secondary education from the University of South Alabama and an educational doctorate from Auburn University in Alabama.
