Jason Wingard Named Dean of Continuing Education at Columbia University

WingardJason Wingard has been appointed dean of the School of Continuing Education at Columbia University in New York City. He will also hold the rank of professor at the school. Dr. Wingard will begin his new duties on July 1.

Currently, Dr. Wingard is the chief learning officer at Goldman Sachs, the Wall Street investment firm. Earlier, he was vice dean of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he led the executive education program. Dr. Wingard is the author of Learning to Succeed: Rethinking Corporate Education in a World of Unrelenting Change (AMACOM, 2015).

“I am privileged and honored to join a faculty and community at Columbia that is dedicated to best-in-class excellence in scholarship, thought leadership, and practical application,” said Dr. Wingard. “The objective, during my tenure, will be to continue to improve upon the quality and innovation of the academic program, deepen and extend internal and external partnerships and stakeholder engagements, and secure Columbia as one of the preeminent global leaders in interdisciplinary professional education.”

Dr. Wingard is a graduate of Stanford University. He holds master’s degrees from Emory University and Harvard University and a Ph.D. in education, culture, and society from the University of Pennsylvania.
