The New Provost at Fielding Graduate University

Fielding Graduate University Dr Gerald Porter 2Gerald Porter has been named provost and senior vice president of Fielding Graduate University, in Santa Barbara, California. The university enrolls about 1,200 students. Blacks are 13 percent of the student body, according to the latest Department of Education figures.

Dr. Porter was vice president of academic affairs and a professor of clinical psychology at the Forest Institute in Springfield, Missouri. He is the former dean of the School of Education at the State University of New York at Cortland.

Dr. Porter holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in educational psychology and statistics from the University at Albany of the State University of New York System.
