In Memoriam: Burrell A. Brown, 1947-2015

Burrell A. BrownBurrell Brown, professor and chair of the department of business administration and economics at California University of Pennsylvania, died of natural causes in his university office on January 25. He was 67 years old.

Professor Brown joined the faculty at the university in 1989. Previously, he was a labor lawyer and served for 20 years as legal counsel for the Pennsylvania chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. He was a founder of the Pittsburgh chapter of the National Black MBA Association.

Professor Brown was a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania. He held an MBA and a juris doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh.

In Memoriam: Roscoe Hightower Jr., 1966-2024

Dr. Hightower was a professor of marketing at his alma mater, historically Black Florida A&M University, where he taught for over two decades. He also served the university as the Centennial Eminent Scholar Chair and Professor of Marketing and Facility Management.
