In Memoriam: James Dennis Singleton Jr., 1945-2015

Jeigh Singleton Fashion Achievement AwardJames “Jeigh” Singleton, professor emeritus of fashion design at Washington University in St. Louis, died on January 11 in Palquemine, Louisiana. He was 70 years old and was suffering from cancer.

Singleton joined the faculty at Washington University in 1972 and was appointed director of the fashion design program at the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts in 1987. He retired from teaching in 2012.

Professor Singleton was a 1966 graduate of Tuskegee University. He earned a master’s degree from Kansas State University.

In Memoriam: O. Jerome Green, 1954-2024

President of historically Black Shorter College O. Jerome Green passed way unexpectedly on April 8. Since he became president in 2012, the college has experienced record-breaking enrollment and graduation rates, created new academic programs, and established the STEM Center for Academic Excellence.
