The New Provost at Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina

Dr CostonYvonne Moore Coston was promoted to provost and vice president of academic affairs at Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was serving as vice president for research and innovation. She has served as a professor of mathematics, dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Education, and acting dean of the School of Sciences, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Everett B. Ward, interim president of Saint Augustine’s University, states that ““Dr. Coston brings a full range of academic experience to the position as a tenured professor, researcher and administrator. I have the fullest confidence in her academic integrity, commitment to quality teaching, and her experience in working with accrediting organizations. At this critical juncture in the life of Saint Augustine’s University, having a seasoned and respected member of the academy lead our academic efforts is essential to the future of this institution.”

Dr. Coston is a graduate of Fayetteville State University in North Carolina, where she majored in mathematics. She holds master’s degrees in statistics and mathematics education and a doctorate in mathematics education from North Carolina State University.
