Florida A&M University Announces Fundraising Success

Florida A&M University, the historically Black educational institution in Tallahassee, has reported major gains in its fundraising efforts. Since June of this year, the university has received more than $3 million in cash donations, nearly triple the amount from a year ago. In addition, the university has received nearly $4 million in pledges during the period.

elmira-mangum-thumbThe university credits the efforts of new president Elmira Mangum for the renewed spirit of giving. Since taking over as president in April Dr. Mangum has traveled the country promoting the university.

President Mangum stated that the “outpouring of donations and pledges shows the renewed faith that people have in the university and the direction it is headed. As I travel the nation, I have been overwhelmed by the positive response that I have received and by the high esteem to which people hold the university.”
