The New Deputy Assistant Secretary for Higher Education at the U.S. Department of Education

MinorJames T. Minor has begun his duties as deputy assistant secretary for higher education programs at the U.S. Department of Education. Dr. Minor was the senior program officer and director of higher education programs for the Southern Education Foundation in Atlanta. From 2004 to 2010, Dr. Minor was a member of the faculty at Michigan State University.

Dr. Minor is a graduate of Jackson State University in Mississippi, where he majored in sociology. He holds a master’s degree in sociology from the University of Nebraska and a doctorate in educational leadership and policy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

  1. Congratulations on continuing good job!

    I am beginning to put together a proposal for a sorely needed computer program set which will serve to better folks lives …fit to them wherever they are in the education pathways or their work experience. I think this proposal should be to Education Department and NSF jointly. I need to find a supporter or champion within the Department of Education.
