Paul Quinn College Teams Up With Duke University for Environmental Justice Program

pqc-logoPaul Quinn College, a historically Black educational institution in Dallas, Texas, is teaming up with Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, for a new semester-long program focused on environmental justice. The Urban Environmental Justice and Social Entrepreneurship program will involve eight undergraduates from each institution.

Students will take four seminar courses: Environmental Justice, Urban Restoration Ecology, Environmental and Social Entrepreneurship, and Tools for Community Involvement in Decision Marking. Classes will be taught at Duke with students at Paul Quinn College participating through an internet hook-up. Duke students will spend three weeks at Paul Quinn College and Paul Quinn College students will spend two weeks in Durham. In Dallas, students from both educational institutions will work to restore an urban stream.
