In Memoriam: Bernard Williams, 1952-2014

BernardWilliamsBernard Williams, the long-time director of the “Golden Voices” choir at Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama, died on August 22. He was 61 years old.

Dr. Williams joined the faculty at Miles College in 1998. In addition to leading the choir, he served as college organist and was a professor of education. Professor Williams held a bachelor’s degree in music education and an educational doctorate from Samford University in Birmingham. He also earned a master’s degree in educational administration at the University of Alabama.

“We are very deeply saddened by the loss of our friend, teacher and colleague, Dr. Bernard Williams who enriched the lives of so many Mileans who endeared him.” said Dr. George T. French, Jr., President of Miles College.
