The New Provost at Lincoln University in Missouri

sewellSaid L. Sewell III is the new provost and vice president for academic affairs at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was assistant provost for academic affairs at Kent State University in Ohio. Dr. Sewell was also dean of undergraduate studies and an associate professor of political science at Kent State.

From 2009 to 2011, Dr. Sewell was executive director of the academic success center and director of the first-year experience at Fort Valley State University in Georgia. He is the founding executive director of the Center for African American Males: Research, Success, and Leadership. Dr. Sewell is the co-author of three books.

Dr. Sewell is a graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, where he majored in political science. He holds a master of public administration degree from Texas Southern University in Houston and Ph.D. in political science from Clark Atlanta University.
