Southern University Seeks to Expand Enrollments in Its Computer Science Program

Southern_University_Law_School_in_Baton_Rouge_LouisianaSouthern University, the historically Black educational institution in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has entered into a partnership agreement with Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC). The agreement allows students who have a completed an associate’s degree in computer science at BRCC to gain admittance to the bachelor’s degree program in computer science in the College of Engineering at Southern University.

Under the agreement, Southern University will provide advisers to assist BRCC students who want to transfer to the computer science program at the university. BRCC agrees to promote and market the partnership to students in its service area.

Baton Rouge Community College enrolls more than 9,000 students. Blacks make up more than 40 percent of the student body at the community college.
