Three HBCU Executives Honored With Awards

Julie GoodwinJulie D. Goodwin, who has served as general counsel at Morgan State University in Baltimore since 1992, received the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of College and University Attorneys. Goodwin has been a member of NACUA since 1985 and served on its board of directors.

Goodwin is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and the University of Maryland School of Law, where she was an assistant editor of the Maryland Law Review.

harveyWilliam R. Harvey, president of Hampton University in Virginia, has received the 2014 Chairman’s Award in Mentoring from the 100 Black Men of America Inc.  He received the award at the group’s recent annual meeting in Hollywood, Florida.

Dr. Harvey is one of the longest-serving university presidents in the nation. He became president of Hampton University in 1978.

gglover11162010Glenda Baskin Glover, president of Tennessee State University in Nashville, received the 2014 National Achievement in Education Award from the National Association of Black Accountants.

Dr. Glover is a certified public accountant. In addition to her bachelor’s degree in mathematics at Tennessee State University, Dr. Glover holds a law degree from Georgetown University, an MBA from Clark Atlanta University, and a Ph.D. in business economics and policy from George Washington University. She is one of only two African American women CPAs in the nation who hold both a Ph.D. and a law degree.

Quenon Endowed Chair, and vice provost for graduate education at Missouri University of Science and Technology.
