The Next Dean of the George Washington University School of Law

Blake D. Morant has been appointed dean of the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. When he takes office on September 1, Morant will also serve as the Robert Kramer Research Professor of Law.

For the past seven years, Professor Morant has been dean of the Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Previously, he was associate dean of academic affairs and the Roy L. Steinheimer Professor of Law at the Washington and Lee University School of Law in Lexington, Virginia. Professor Morant is the president-elect of the Association of American Law Schools.

Professor Morant holds a bachelor’s degree and a juris doctorate from the University of Virginia.
