New U.S. Ambassador Has Ties to Higher Education

YohannesDaniel W. Yohannes was recently sworn in as the United States Ambassador to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. For the past four years, he was the CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, an independent organization fighting poverty worldwide. Earlier Yohannes had launched his own investment firm and is the former president and CEO of Colorado National Bank.

A native of Ethiopia, Yohannes is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College in California. He earned an MBA at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.

Yohannes also has other ties to higher education. He serves on the board at the Michael G. Foster School of Business at the University of Washington and the board of advisers of the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
