Bennett College Signs Co-Admission Agreement With a Community College

Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina, has entered into an agreement with Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) in Jamestown, North Carolina, that will allow students who complete an associate’s degree at GTCC to enter into the bachelor’s degree program in social work at Bennett College. Guilford Technical Community College enrolls nearly 15,000 students. Nearly half of the student body is Black.

Rosalind Fuse-Hall, president of Bennett College, stated, “When a student applies and is admitted into the co-admission program, she will enjoy an expansion of her educational choices, ease of transition between institutions, a seamless admission process, and financial aid and student services support. We feel sure this process will increase a student’s likelihood of completing her associate and bachelor’s degrees.”

  1. What an excellent idea. You are assured of a population coming from the community college and instead of a student sitting out a semester he/she can take advantage of the partnering community college for a semester and return. The student continues to learn but at a different rate and he or she doesn’t loose time or money. The transition is much smoother upon return.
