Hudson Rogers Named Provost at Valdosta State University in Georgia

hudson_rogersHudson P. Rogers was appointed provost and vice president for academic affairs at Valdosta State University in Georgia. The university enrolls about 2,200 graduate students and more than 10,000 undergraduates. African Americans make up 35 percent of the undergraduate student body.

Dr. Rogers will take office on July 1. Currently, he is dean of the Lutgert College of Business at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers. He has been dean since 2011. Previously, he was associate vice provost and vice president for academic affairs at Florida Gulf Coast University.

Dr. Rogers is a graduate of the University of the West Indies campus in Trinidad and Tobago. He holds an MBA from the University of New Orleans and doctorate in business administration with a concentration in marketing from the University of Memphis.
