A New African American Member of the Board of the Harvard Corporation

chenaultKenneth I. Chenault, CEO of American Express, has been elected to the board of the Harvard Corporation. The Harvard Corporation is the principal fiduciary governing authority of the nation’s oldest university. The organization was previously known as the President and Fellows of Harvard College. Other African Americans who have served on the board of the Harvard Corporation include Patricia A. King and Conrad Harper.

Chenault has been CEO of American Express since 2001. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College and the Harvard Law School. One of his sons graduated from Harvard in 2012 and another son is now a senior at the university.
