Three Black Scholars in New Teaching Roles

loganNneka Logan was named assistant professor of communication at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. While working in communications for a Fortune 500 company, Dr. Logan received her Ph.D. earlier this year from Georgia State University in Atlanta.

Dr. Logan is a graduate of the University of Georgia and holds a master’s degree from Georgia State University.

Tamika-La-SalleTamika La Salle is a new assistant professor of school psychology at the University of Connecticut’s Neag School of Education. She was an educational consultant for the Mississippi Department of Education and the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. La Salle earned her doctorate at Georgia State University.

Courtney-SimonsCourtney Simons was appointed lecturer of food science at the Lake Campus of Wright State University in Celina, Ohio. He was a graduate teaching assistant at North Dakota State University, where he earned a Ph.D. in cereal science.

Before coming to the United States, Dr. Simons worked for 12 years in the food industry in Jamaica.
