Racial Slurs Found in the Library at the University of North Carolina Greensboro

abbrevvcolorVandals wrote racial slurs on book covers, walls, and desks in the African American studies section of the library at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Two White men were seen on surveillance video leaving the area where the vandalism occurred.

Linda Brady, chancellor of the university stated, “This despicable action – involving racial slurs and damaged property – has been characterized as a hate crime and a full investigation is under way. This is more than just vandalism; it is an affront to the university community.”

Update: A White male freshman at the university was arrested and charged with ethnic intimidation in connection with the incident.
