Nuclear Engineer Named Dean at South Carolina State University

Lewis-KennethKenneth Lewis, a nuclear engineer, was appointed dean of the College of Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering Technology at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg. Dr. Lewis previously served as dean from 2005 to 2011. Prior to his first term as dean, Dr. Lewis worked in the nuclear industry for 20 years at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and other installations.

Dr. Lewis is a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He holds a master’s degree in physics from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and a second master’s degree in nuclear engineering from Stanford University. Dr Lewis also earned a master’s degree in mathematics and a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from the University of Illinois.
