Florida Memorial University Trustee Elected Senate President in the Bahamas

Sharon_WilsonSharon Wilson, a member of the board of trustees of Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens, was elected president of the Senate of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. This will be her second term as Senate president. She served in the post from 2002 to 2007, when she was the first woman to ever hold the position.

Wilson is a 1971 graduate of Florida Memorial University and has been a member of the board of trustees since 1986. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Miami and completed her legal studies in the Bahamas. She joined the Bahamas Bar in 1983 and has operated a successful law firm in Nassau.
