Barbara Broome Chosen as Dean of the College of Nursing at Kent State University

Barbara-BroomeBarbara Broome was chosen as the new dean of the College of Nursing at Kent State University in Ohio. She will begin her new assignment on March 17. Currently, Dr. Broome is associate dean and chair of the department of community-mental health at the University of South Alabama College of Nursing.

Dr. Broome holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the College of Nursing at Kent State University. She earned a Ph.D. in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. She has been on the faculty at the University of South Alabama since 1999.

Dr. Broome stated, “As a graduate of Kent State’s College of Nursing, I know firsthand the exceptional quality of education. The faculty members are outstanding and are committed to student learning. The Kent community is more exciting and dynamic than ever before. I am truly excited to return to Kent State and to make a difference.”

      Great to hear from you,. I was searching the web and saw your comment. Well, I did retire from South Ala., but this was among the reasons, This is a great opportunity and near family, although our son lives in Alabama and we kept our home there for our retirement.
