Everette Freeman Named President of the Community College of Denver

FreemanEverette J. Freeman was named president of the Community College of Denver in Colorado. The college enrolls about 12,000 students. African Americans make up about 16 percent of the student body.

Since 2005, Dr. Freeman has been president of Albany State University in Georgia. He will take on his new role beginning November 1.

“I am honored to accept the position of president of Community College of Denver,” said Dr. Freeman. “Community College of Denver is a jewel in the crown of the Colorado Community College System and I look forward to my move to Denver and leading this fine institution.”

Dr. Freeman is a graduate of Antioch College. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Illinois and a doctorate in education from Rutgers University in New Jersey.
