The Only Women’s Swim Team at a HBCU Is Facing the Chopping Block

ncatsuLast month, North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro announced that it was ending its intercollegiate women’s swim team. The team is being phased out between now and 2015. According to Swimming World magazine, the North Carolina A&T University swim team is the only women’s team still in existence at a historically Black college or university.

  1. I was upset to hear about the female team but I am especially upset to hear about the men’s team at North Carolina A&T is no longer! The young men at NC A &T should have the same opportunities that the young women have! I’m glad to know that the women’s swim team remains intact but the men’s team to come back!

  2. Black girls swim!!! Please keep the swim team at North Carolina A&T. My daughter is a great competitive swimmer and would like to attend an HBCU. #2017
