Dana Brooks Appointed to Third Term as Dean at West Virginia University

DanaBrooksDana D. Brooks was reappointed to a third five-year term as dean of the College of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences at West Virginia University in Morgantown.

West Virginia University Provost, Michele G. Wheatley, stated, “Dean Brooks is a tremendous asset to the university. “The stability and growth that the college has experienced under this leadership has benefited students, staff, and the entire community.”

Dr. Brooks was named interim dean in 1992 and appointed dean a year later. He continues to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses at the university. He is a past president of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. He is the co-editor of Racism in College Athletics : The African American Athlete’s Experience, which is now in its third edition, and co-editor of Diversity and Social Justice in College Sports: Sport Management and the Student Athlete.
