Cheyney University Opens New Residence for Honors Program Scholars

cheyneyCheyney University of Pennsylvania recently reopened Humphreys Hall, the oldest academic building on campus. The building which originally was constructed more than a century ago has stood vacant for the past decade. Named after the university’s founder, Richard Humphreys, the newly renovated structure will serve as a residence hall for a cohort of honors students called Humphreys Scholars.

The refurbished Humphreys Hall includes single rooms for each of the 12 scholars, a lounge, kitchen, laundry room, and study rooms. There will also be a furnished apartment for visiting scholars and other guests to use.

In Memoriam: Norman B. Anderson, 1955-2024

Dr. Anderson was the assistant vice president for research and academic affairs at Florida State University at the time of his death. He had an extensive career in clinical psychology, which led him to become the first African American chief executive officer of the American Psychological Association.
