Change in the Provost’s Office at Tuskegee University

Luther S. WilliamsLuther S. Williams has retired from his post as executive vice president and provost at Tuskegee University in Alabama. He had been serving in this post since December 2012. Previously, he was provost and vice president for academic affairs. He also served as dean of the Graduate School and was director of the Ph.D. program in integrative biosciences. Prior to coming to Tuskegee University, he taught at Purdue University, MIT, and Washington University in St. Louis.

Dr. Williams is a graduate of Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama. He holds a master’s degree from Atlanta University and a Ph.D. in microbial biology from Purdue University.

Walter A. HillThe new provost at Tuskegee University is Walter A. Hill. He was promoted from his position as vice provost and dean of the College of Agriculture. He also is the director of the George Washington Carver Agricultural Experiment Station at Tuskegee.

Dr. Hill is a graduate of Lake Forest College in Illinois. He holds master’s degrees from the University of Arizona and the University of Chicago. Dr. Hill earned a Ph.D. in agronomy and environmental chemistry from the University of Illinois.
