White Student Union Established at Georgia State University

CircleLogo-WEBA new student group is starting up on the campus of Georgia State University in Atlanta. According to the group’s website, The White Student Union at Georgia State University will be “a place for like-minded White students to come together and not only celebrate their common European/Euro-American cultures, but to discuss issues that affect White people in the world today.” The website states that the White Student Union will “advocate for the interests of White people while celebrating heritage, culture, and working with other student groups on campus.”

According to the latest Department of Education statistics, Whites make up 36 percent of the 24,000-member undergraduate student body at Georgia State and Blacks are 37 percent of the undergraduates.

Below is a documentary about the establishment of a White Student Union group at Towson University in Maryland. The founders of the Georgia State group stated that they got the idea to start their organization from the efforts at Towson University.

  1. Your article implies that the White Student Union associated with Matthew Heimbach was an officially established student organization at Towson University. That is not so. There was never a WSU “established” at university. Whatever group Heimbach had was not recognized by Towson University.

    • Our article never says it was officially sanctioned. It says it was “established at Towson”. It does not say the university had any role in the establishment of the group or condoned the group. But we thank the writer for making it clear that the university had no association with the group.
