Bethune-Cookman University Names Its Next Provost

provost-abdullahMakola M. Abdullah was appointed provost at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was provost, vice president of academic affairs, and professor of mathematics at Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens. Earlier in his career, he was dean and a tenured professor of civil and environmental engineering at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. He has also held posts at the University at Buffalo, Chicago State University, and Northwestern University.

Dr. Abdullah is a graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. He earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in civil engineering from Northwestern University.
