The New Chancellor of the Mont Alto Campus of Pennsylvania State University

AchampongFrancis K. Achampong was named chancellor at the Mont Alto campus of Pennsylvania State University. The campus, located southwest of Harrisburg, enrolls about 1,200 undergraduate students. About 12 percent of the student body is Black. Dr. Achampong will begin his new duties on August 1.

Dr. Achampong is currently serving as chancellor at the Fayette campus of Pennsylvania State University, a smaller campus that is located South of Pittsburgh. From 2002 to 2010 he was a tenured professor of business law and director of academic affairs at the Mont Alto campus.  Prior to joining the faculty at the Mont Alto campus, Dr. Achampong taught at Norfolk State University in Virginia from 1985 to 2002.

Dr. Archampong holds a doctorate in law from the University of London and a master’s degree in law from Georgetown University.

In Memoriam: O. Jerome Green, 1954-2024

President of historically Black Shorter College O. Jerome Green passed way unexpectedly on April 8. Since he became president in 2012, the college has experienced record-breaking enrollment and graduation rates, created new academic programs, and established the STEM Center for Academic Excellence.
