Mark Winston Is a Finalist for Dean of Libraries at West Virginia University

winstonWest Virginia University has announced three finalists for the position of dean of libraries at the university. The candidates will all be visiting campus in early May for interviews and public forums. One of the three candidates is an African American.

Mark Winston is assistant chancellor and director of the John Cotton Dana Library on the Newark campus of Rutgers University. Previously, he served on the Rutgers faculty and on the faculty at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Also, he has held library management positions at Valdosta State University in Georgia and the University of Arizona.

Dr. Winston earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.

In Memoriam: Faith Ringgold, 1930-2024

Ringgold was a mixed media artist, best known for her narrative quilts which centered around African American and women's representation. She was a professor emerita of art with the University of California, San Diego where she taught for 15 years.
