Three African American Scholars Named to New Administrative Posts in Higher Education

davis FridayPaquita Davis-Friday was named executive director of graduate programs for the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College in New York City. She has been serving since 2006 as a tenured associate professor of accountancy at the business school.

Dr. Davis-Friday holds a bachelor’s degree, two master’s degrees, and a Ph.D. in business administration, all from the University of Michigan.

Professor Martin Arthur McCroryMartin McCrory was appointed associate vice president for diversity, equity, and multicultural affairs and vice provost for educational inclusion and diversity at Indiana University in Bloomington. Dr. McCrory is a professor in the university’s Kelley School of Business and chair of its undergraduate honors program.

Professor McCrory is a graduate of Indiana University and the Indiana University School of Law.

ATAdamsAnthony Troy Adams, a professor of sociology at Alabama State University in Montgomery, was named interim dean of the university’s College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Dr. Adams is also the president-elect of the Alabama-Mississippi Sociological Association.

Professor Adams is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti. He holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
