19 Bias Incidents Reported at Elizabethtown College Since February 1

E-logoSince February 1, there have been 19 incidents of racial, ethnic, or anti-gay bias on the campus of Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania. The college. which enrolls about 2,400 undergraduate students is east of the state capital in Harrisburg. About 4 percent of the student body is Black.

College officials stated that most of the incidents involved the writing of hateful messages or threats on message boards on the dormitory room doors of students. The FBI was called in to investigate some of the incidents. A candlelight vigil was held on April 5 to raise awareness about the incidents.

The college stated that one individual, who is not a student and is believed to be involved in at least some of the incidents, has been banned from campus.
