Two African American Scholars Assume New Teaching Posts

Lisa bowlegLisa Bowleg is a new associate professor of psychology at George Washington University in the nation’s capital. She was an associate professor of community health and prevention at Drexel University in Philadelphia where her research focused on HIV prevention.

Dr. Bowleg holds two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in social psychology from George Washington University.

He previously served on the faculty at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Dr. Cobb is the author of several books including The Substance of Hope: Barack Obama and the Paradox of Progress (Walker & Co., 2010) and To the Break of Dawn: A Freestyle on the Hip-Hop Aesthetic (New York University Press, 2007).

Dr. Cobb is a graduate of Howard University and earned a Ph.D. in history from Rutgers University.
