Daniel Wubah Selected as the Next Provost at Washington and Lee University

wubahDaniel A. Wubah was named as the next provost of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. His appointment is effective on July 1. Dr. Wubah is currently vice president for undergraduate education and deputy provost at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg. He also serves as professor of biological sciences at Virginia Tech. At Washington and Lee, Dr. Wubah will also be a professor of biology.

Prior to joining the faculty at Virginia Tech, Dr. Wubah was associate provost for undergraduate academic affairs at the University of Florida. Earlier he served on the faculty at James Madison University in Virginia and Towson University in Maryland.

Professor Wubah is a graduate of the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. He earned a master’s degree in biology from the University of Akron and a Ph.D. in botany from the University of Georgia. Dr. Wubah conducted postdoctoral research at the Environmental Protection Agency’s research laboratory in Athens, Georgia.
