Claflin University Launches the Center for Faith and Public Life

The department of philosophy and religion at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina, recently launched the new Center for Faith and Public Life. The center’s mission will be built on four tenets: research, education, advocacy, and development. Research will focus on religion’s impact and influence on current, social, political and economic issues.

dr-johnny-b-hillJohnny B. Hill, an associate professor of religion and philosophy at Claflin University, has been appointed the director of the new center. Dr. Hill is a graduate of Morehouse College. He holds two master’s degrees from Duke University and a Ph.D. from the Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois.
