Marvin Lynn Named Dean of Education at Indiana University South Bend

Lynn-MarvinMarvin Lynn has been selected as the new dean of the School of Education at Indiana University South Bend. He is currently the associate dean for teacher education at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Dr. Lynn will begin his new duties on July 1.

Dr. Lynn holds a master’s degree from Teachers College at Columbia University and a doctorate in social sciences and education from the University of California at Los Angeles. He began his career as a teacher in the Chicago and New York City public school systems. After completing his doctorate, in 2001 he joined the faculty at the University of Maryland at College Park as an assistant professor of curriculum and instruction. In 2007, Dr. Lynn was named associate professor and director of graduate and undergraduate elementary teacher education programs at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He was appointed associate dean at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2011.
