Two Black Scholars Promoted and Granted Tenure at Williams College

WilliamsCollegeSealPurpleWilliams College, the highly rated liberal arts institution in Williamstown, Massachusetts, recently announced the awarding of tenure and the promotion to associate professor for nine faculty members. There are two Black scholars among those promoted and awarded tenure.

James-smJames Manigault-Bryant was promoted to associate professor of Africana studies. He joined the Williams College faculty in 2010 and is an affiliate faculty member of the Center for Environmental Studies. Dr. Manigault-Bryant is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans. He earned a Ph.D. from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

Munemo_Ngonidzashe_2012_2-150x150Ngonidzashe Munemo is an associate professor of political science. He is the author of Domestic Politics and Drought Relief in Africa: Explaining Choices (First Forum Press, 2012). Dr. Munemo has been on the Williams College faculty since 2007. He is a graduate of Bard College in Annandale-On-Hudson, New York, and earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. at Columbia University.
