Three African American Women Earn Promotions in University Administrations

wigfall-carmenCarmen Wigfall was promoted to associate registrar at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina. Wigfall joined the staff at the university in 2007 as a computer support consultant in the Office of the Provost. She previously served as a programmer/analyst for International Textile Group in Greensboro.

Wigfall is a graduate of Indiana State University, where she majored in office administration. She holds an MBA from Winston-Salem State University.

Roberts_BettyBetty Roberts was promoted to senior vice president for university operations and chief operating officer at Alcorn State University in Mississippi. She joined the staff at Alcorn State in 2011 as senior vice president for administration and chief financial officer. She previously held positions at the University of Houston, Pennsylvania State University, and the University of Missouri.

A graduate of Cazenovia College in New York, Dr. Roberts holds a master’s degree from the University of Louisville and a doctorate in higher education from the University of Missouri.

lisa-mckayLisa L. McKay was promoted to senior assistant provost and director of the University Center for Academic and Workforce Development for the State University of New York. She has been serving as director of the university’s Educational Opportunity Center. She has held that post since 2002.

A graduate of Bowie State University in Maryland, where she majored in psychology, McKay holds a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from the University at Albany, part of the SUNY system.
