Walter L. Burt to Lead the College of Education at Western Michigan University

Walter L. Burt was named interim dean of the College of Education and Human Development at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. Dr. Burt has been on the faculty at the university since 2004 and presently serves as an associate professor of educational leadership, research, and technology. Previously, he was superintendent of the public school district in Pontiac, Michigan, and was a project manager at the Stupski Foundation in Mill Valley, California.

Dr. Burt is a graduate of Alcorn State University in Mississippi, where he majored in biology. He holds a master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti and an educational doctorate from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
